What if we made the Novax a game ender, with a game-ender-like cost? Buff the beam, make it always on, give it the thick beam effect from the CZAR, give it AOE :)

Then we make the Mavor much cheaper and weaker and give it a different role. It was never much of a game ender anyways in FA.

As it is now the Novax on most game is just for fun, I hardly see it as a viable unit to actually do damage. It's completely useless, the damage you can do considering its cost are ridiculous. I guess the situation can be different on a long thermo x2 game, but on that I would shut it

This sounds exactly like T3 artillery. Why do we need the Novax to have a role like this? It is redundant.

How about a completely different role for it? Totally redo the entire unit, new cost, build time, etc...
Just some ideas to get you thinking.

Mobile Intel/Vision
Satellite reclaims wreckage
Mobile SMD
Mobile TMD
Satellite provides large area radar jamming
Satellite provides teleport jamming
Satellite weapon is EMP blast
Satellite weapon is Shield Absolver
Satellite weapon is uber anti-air weapon of some kind.
Satellite teleports land units from base station to land below satellite.

Some stupid ideas obviously, but I don't think we have to be limited to just making it a T2.5 artillery.

P.S. It is hard to think of new weapons for UEF as they are already so strong in most areas. The vision idea stands out as a small weakness for UEF as Aeon have the Eye of Rhianne and Cybran have the Soothsayer.

Things about the novax:
1 is terrible
3 will win you a game.
They get significantly better the more of them you have, as suddenly you can't shield your base enough any more.

Having them with constant fire will cause the same problem, you just won't be able to stop them.

Their benefit is being a unit that can damage without fear of being lost (unless you lose your base) or can be used to drop on SMD silos.
This currently does not justify the cost.
If anything, reduce the cost slightly, but not too much. I think if people built them and used them to snipe outlying mass extractors they would see more use as they currently are.

When Ctrl-Ked, the satellite will drop an an unpredictable angle, so you cant really use it to snipe things.
Reduce the laser range (or increase vision) so that it can see what it is shooting.

Also, my personal wish: Change the laser properties so that it is always firing, and doesnt reload. If needed, adjust damage so DPS remains constant.
