So whenever a game that is less than 8 minutes when I leave it that is said to be a re-host, & still counts as valid game - players should always report?...

…Same for opposite, whenever there is a valid game (legit win circumstances), that concludes before 8 minutes and has system post, "Invalid because yadayada." We should also report?

Ze Pilot and his Team should hire someone, who does nothing but watch all livereplays and evaluate the outcome of the games for global rating and other shizzles :P

Only problem: first livereplay needs to work, right now you get other game outcomes in most cases than the real game^^

Yes 8min is too long, but the major problem is the system itself i think. It was supposed to make laggy games or disconnected players not counting in the global rating, but the first one wanting to get his points waits in front of the score screen...

yeah the only thing it helps right now is if all players agree to rehost
but then, if its a X v X who can guarantee that some player wont just wait the 8 min anyway?

vs.
Pontius and Geckoshooter

When game ends, it actually doesn't say Sunday was dead, but his ACU did explode.

What happened was - The two acus from the opposite team came running at me, I fought with the one before I realized I was about to be double teammed. started a t1 pd with a engie back from my position, kept running back, pd finished after BOTH acus were in range, got up a second pd further back, and both enemy acu's were inbetween my two t1 pds. Needless to say, they got raped; but So did I. But, none the less I did pull a WIN out for my team.

Through no choice of my own, no way to flat out win. Still, these guys clearly tried a plan and it failed terribly - Had it worked, they would have won after 8minutes, but it didn't and they died before it; without consequence or adjustment to their assumed skill level (global rating).

Actually a pretty lawzy match to watch imho, Enjoy!

Guys, it's a beta. Test it for some time, then if you experience several bothering inconveniences with this new time value, report them.

Yes we know, the fact that FAF is still beta is hard to miss, its thrown in our face often - check the original post; I am just looking for opinions on the new time Limit; what people think and if it's appropriate - why or why not. Hence beta, its up to us to figure out if newly implemented features and processes are a enhancement or create detrimental effect, along with regular testing of all lobby features and reporting any issues/ideas. FAF is a great community driven project, that has been re-developed and has also evolved continuously - largely in part to efforts such as this. Just gathering information and trying to provide a medium for intelligent debate, on this new feature.
Again, this Threads' purpose was to;

1. Find out how many "disagree" with the 8 minute no-count timer
2. Reasons for your opinion(s)
3. Theorize possible alternatives

I thought the same thing but Zep assured me that if someone was found to be repeatedly exploiting rehosted games to gain points they could be reported and dealt with. Have some faith, guys, it's not as bad as you think :P

Depending on how this was managed would depend on whether this is a sucessful deterrent. How does the person deciding whether it is a ragequit or whether it is a genuine disconnect that people have stayed past the 8 minute timer to gain points for?

And then the other, non-DC'ing team simply waits at the score screen until it's been after 8 minutes. :)

Making this known to everybody will ofc lead to the inevitable abuse of the system if this is the way in which to stop rage quitters it will also be a way for people to gain points from games where a player dc's early on as VoR has said.

So is this really a valid solution to the problem ?
