I'd love a mentor! I know this thread is old nowadays but if anyone could point me in the right direction I'll appreciate it and get messaging.

Who is still active as a mentor?

I'm 1100 global and and a bit under 700 on ladder. I play FA for fun but the fun comes from competency!

I just want to give a shout out to Bad_Luck_Brian and Theeggroll for taking the time to work with me over the weekend. Both of you guys gave me some excellent advice and made sure that I didn't just hear, but understood. I am quite thankful for your time, and hope to continue learning.

What about stars for mentors. A "super mentor" gives a mentor candidate a replay he has to comment within a time span. (some hours or a day) Based on this comment / test the "super mentor" gives the stars.

"super mentor" At least 1800 and/or tested by 3 other mentors and found to be worthy

The thing about rating is: even certain 1000 rated players could train a 1500. There a players like me that mostly know what they have done wrong, but can't transfer it to the game. My chess trainer eg. has only 1750 ELO but has trained others which had become over 2300 ELO (several german youth champions). It's all about seeing the weaknesses and strengths and knowing how to train what and when.

I am still down for learning. I know that I am not great, but I learn better when I'm getting beat on XD. KD7 was willing to work with me, but he was more geared towards larger team games, and I am anxious to get better at 1v1. If anyone is free, let me know.

Maybe make a thread in FAF suggestion Subforum for this?

In terms of Clans being useful I think that depends highly on the clan you join.

Well i'm totally willing to put it into downlord's client, I just have to talk to sheeo about some server support.

I think one of the best things you can do is join a clan and play with your "mates."

I didn't know some of the key features of "engy mod" until I joined AIx back at my start and it greatly improved my gameplay by hearing feedback via comms over trial-and-error.

Try and get into some club if you can....

I was imagining essentially what you're describing, but also the ability to setup weekly sessions, post available times, maybe some good tutorial videos, most improved players to kind of drive players, maybe stats on most players trained, etc. basically a fully featured training/ mentoring hub
