Eshez was on FAF some time ago and played for a month or so.

Was he actually still any good? He played for such a short time after release, I imagine it would be hard to keep up with changes, especially with an expansion.

Fact is, Unconquerable was reigning supreme for a very long time.

I wouldn't quite say he was reigning supreme. If I remember correctly, he was consistently top 10 or top 5, but never actually at the top of the ladder. Unless he reached there after I stopped playing, but I think his activity died down alongside mine.

Shortly after release there was a guy named Eshez with a ridiculous record, something like 85-4 in 1v1 games. He quit the game due to real life stuff... and he wasn't even first on the ladder at the time with that record. SirLoui was rank #1 for a long time from what I remember.

Hilarious that this post was made recently, I just started playing again a week ago for the first time in years. Coming up with new strategies and everything.

I beat uncobquerable in my match vs him in the first supcom money tournament. He wasn't that good. His fame was because of his name and his childish arrogance. I expect he has moved on in his live to endeavors not related to videogames

If I recall, that was FunkOn, somebody who you have a track record of pretending to be.

level of play has gone up far higher since then, so he would be maybe 1600-1700 or so if he appeared now, after some more practice maybe he would become good

Counterfactual. If Unconq had kept playing there's no reason why he wouldn't have maintained his advantage. Some argue that he actually never stopped playing. Only those in the know are aware of whether this was the case.

You really shouldn't dramatize it too much. It's very easy to become a "top" player in the first year of (nearly) any game. I expect he'd have a long road ahead of him to become a top player today.

There are no FA experts. It's widely considered that it requires 10000 hours to become an expert at something and only a handful of players today meet this criteria.

Sounds like a BC worthy guy 8-)

Was just an imposer, not the real one.

Unconq was a wc3 pro, never returned after getting banned for posting 2 girls 1 cup. :D

And hi Ragnarok, i do remember you. :)

A friend of mine got banned for something similar, some metal band throwing poop. Very immature.

then again, he wasn't a pro so for him it was less problematic.
