just noting it here as i asked him to post or pm the suggest because faf forums is the easiest way for me to go back and check on what everyone thinks about the rules but i suppose he forgot and i didn't want to forget someones opinion.
anyways guys, you guys have like a day or two so speak now or forever hold your peace ;) jokes! <3

Are you saying that the new rules will be in place in a couple of days or that the next draft will be written?

No, i meant that i want a documented record of opinions for when drafting starts and for through out the drafting process.

More generally I could post that in pm and it would still be breaking the rules as they stand.

Make some suggestions! Sometimes ctrl-k is justified... http://replay.faforever.com/4519410

I think this discussion should be closed and work should be done to refine the rules for "Take 2" as things have really spiraled out of control. I have some good ideas on how to communicate things in a better manner.

Morax how have things spiralled out of control? The only particularly heated debate was to do with offensive language, there is a reasonable consensus on the thread in a lot of other areas. I've acknowledged that I got a bit wound up at times, but on the whole this was a civil, effective debate.

I agree that further debate on some of the points would be largely academic and probably belongs somewhere else.

Rules can be be too harsh or too lenient, that's not really an issue. You read the rules, you abide by them or risk the consequences. But what if you can't because the rules are ambiguous?

Which country's laws? You can't expect people to be familiar with a third country's legislation.

You will not send messages of illegal nature or messages that detail ways to perform acts of an illegal nature.

Again illegal in what country? Alcohol has been discussed in Aeolus...

You will not create offensive usernames as determined by the community staff.

We are mind-readers? At least this seems to be mostly handled by name change requests so that's not too bad. Just creates extra work for moderators.

And what happens in Aeolus should stay in Aeolus, I'm not sure there is an offense severe enough to be committed in it to warrant ban from FAF.

Well there was this guy who said he was going to murder me once...

fair enough ;)

By more insulting, I meant that all the snark, rethoric and mis-representation of opposing views and all, didn't look to me as an attempt at debating ... but rather, in a way, to "offend" (no need to use racial slur to belittle people), which I found ironic.
(of course, nowhere close to "blatant racism", but I havn't seen that here)

But we can all get carried away in a battle of wits at times.

I don't think there'll ever be a good reason to call a game "no niggers", and that the reason as to why should be taken to off-topic at this point.

Let's see if Lionhardt agrees with you there.

OMG quotes hate me.
