So before we cross that threshold, playing against AI is fine, we usually work up towards the hardest setting, Eventually we will get bored with the AI, its going to take a while before that happens though since I see quite a a lot of options for the AI :P.

As long the AI provides a decent challenge and we have fun its fine :D, not really rushers anyway and we usually drag games out.

Edit : I also seem to have phrased it wrong when saying "hone our skills", Let me correct that : "to familiarize ourselves better with the game."

that is awesome thanks for the tip man :D, is it fully compatible with FAF? and I presume maps need AI markers for it to function?

AI is good for a start, to learn the basic game mechanics. You want to advance to human opponents as soon as you can beat the supreme AI in a 1v1 match or when you get bored of AI play, whichever comes first. Reason being that the highest AI equates to about 500-600 player and you cannot improve by playing against the someone of constant skill.

no
you can't put the ai on a scale in terms of skill that equates to anything a human player can do

being able to beat any ai doesn't tell you anything about playing against other people

don't expect to beat anyone in 1v1 because you consistently beat any ai opponent

I count the number of replays as the number of replays shown in the vault.
58 are single player, which is a usual proportion for FAF, and things like EQ tourneys dont really skew this

This puts EQ somewhere in the middle in terms of featured mod popularity; im not at my PC atm so i cant get numbers but they range somewhere from 1-2 replays/day to 100+ /day for Xtreme wars and the like.

But this bit i agree with the most! just do whatever!

Not really. In the last 5 days there were 95 total EQ games. 58 of those only had 1 player in them, which means 7,4 EQ multiplayer/coop games/day.

Although this doesn't really matter since you're mostly playing with friends. Just pick what you guys find the most fun

It gets a few tourneys per year but i think that those arent enough to really skew numbers in either direction.
From experience, if you are good at hosting you can fill anything, but it really does depend on what you want to do - if its some modded game, or obscure map it may make it harder or easier to fill up.

Why? When i started i chose uef just because i though they looked the best (aesthetically). Nothing wrong with that.
Toilenator wrote:

Just so you know, currently there isnt a playerbase dedicated to eq and it barely gets played compared to the normal balance, so i suggest not doing that unless you get a group of people together that are of the same mindset AND very active, otherwise youll permanently be stuck in lobbysim hell.

Statwise and experiencewise, Cybran are pretty bad on defense. Their t2 PD is more for shredding t1/t2 units than heavy t3s and t4s. Aeon are also pretty bad because their PDs are dodgeable with some micro. Seraphim PDs never miss and they do decent damage, coupled with their strong shields they are as good as UEF on defense in T2. UEF is considered the master of defense or turtling but their offensive capabilities are to be reckoned with, especially in t2 and t3.

As suggested, play all four, then choose.

Thanks for all the info and pitch. I think for now Ill keep playing FAF, to familiarize myself more in the game, I have read the EQ changelog, so it is only a matter of time until I either am content with the current balance of FAF or switch to EQ (same thing happened with Company of Heroes once I switched to Blitzkireg mod).

I do have to say though the thing that attracts me most to EQ are the Sub changes :O

PS.
I also want to thank you all for the warm welcome, cheers!
