Exactly this. Splitting hairs about the exact definition of "exponential" isn't productive. :)

it is the purpose of this thread.

i was hoping to see more of Anaryls picture collection in the course of the debate.

Awesome! That saves me some time and pointed me in the right direction. I'll just change it to display the rates rather than the totals.

noooooo, dont do it. get the data out of there. then we can use a real programming language to process it.
1) you can draw the statistics while the game is running (alt+tab)
2) you can use the data for other stuff too (remember playertrack?)

Hotstats and raw data that you can take out of the game are two very different things. Having someone work up your data for you is like coming home from a long vacation to find that your wife is pregnant.

what?

This isn't what you wanted?

why exactly did you not send me a replay of you playing sentons air? Send me a replay of sentons air root!

edit: never mind, it already has that. Unfortunately it does include reclaim in the graph which makes it a bit harder to read.

Technically, if the only thing you were doing is building economy, then yes it would be exponential:

Consider, you can build a t2 power generator and 3 t2 mass fabricators on + 3 mass/second in an amount of time (a really long one).

You are then at +6 mass a second and can build a t2 power generator and 3 t2 mass fabricators in half the time.
You are then at +9 mass a second and can build a t2 power generator and 3 t3 mass fabricators in a third of the time.

And so on.

However, nobody ONLY eco spams.

so if the above build order is an exponential economy, would it still be exponential if i make infinite amounts of tanks from 1 factory in addition to it?

That word, I do not think it means what you think it means.

That

exponential: Relating to a mathematical expression containing one or more exponents. Something is said to increase or decrease exponentially if its rate of change must be expressed using exponents. A graph of such a rate would appear not as a straight line, but as a curve that continually becomes steeper or shallower.

The American Heritage® Science Dictionary

or is there another kind of exponential?

Obviously reclaim impacts on the eco in a big positive way, but the point is whatever the source of income, the sooner you get your investment in eco worth it, the sooner your eco will go crazy. It's not literally exponential , but my feeling is that it's not linear at all.

its also literally exponential
