Also encourages people to stick it out for the whole 5~10 games.

(dont argue with me about if there is frustation/rage because there IS undepending of if the system is good or not, new players on the ladder are not intressted in argumenst (i speak from experience), but points this is something that cant be changed and must be dealt with somehow, so what speaks against not showing the rating for the first games (LoL does that too)

Trueskill isn't there to provide you with something you can move up and down whenever you want, its there to give people an indication as to what you "skill" is. Thats the only misunderstanding.

That is the real answer of a fanatic.
If somebody is able to explain it me the relevance of this post.

If really snobody cares about ratings, if it is only to make good matchups, then why a ladder ? why do we see ratings ?
Would be better to not see ratings since they are not important, they are only here for the thing I misunderstood ...
There is no middle here.

If that is the argument, then a pool about who care about his rating and who doesnt would be interesting.
If people care about his rating, the argument is not valuable. Such argument should never be used in the futur.

I think again most arguments are simply wrong. There was never a real debate and people seems used to accept what is new like it is the natural progress. May be that is the modern thing FAF needed to get good self-satisfaction.

By the way I wil continue to love all the good work, and I am sure we will keep the truskill system since zepilote decides and wants it. I wont cry and continue to come sometimes :)
Only saying a smart debate never happent about this topic.

Trueskill is a false good idea.

The mimimal requirement for a rating should be that you know what is the expected bonus or minus by a win or a loss.
We can only make wild guesses with the trueskill system.

I played more than 100 000 chess games on all good chess sites, we use elo and it works perfectly.
Elo for 1vs1 is perfect. Mixing 1vs1 ratings with TeamvsTeam ratings is another no sens.
1vs1 is another game.
It seems everybody believes truskill is better but most arguments are simply wrong.

elo has too many weaknesses like losing alot points to smurfs / new players or easily feeding one player with new accounts
