The game title in question that resulted in the creation of this thread was, "nigger get on the boat'. It was certainly not used as a term of endearment in this case. The racial slur originated from the slave trade in which persons native to the African continent were put on boats and enslaved. It is not likely that the game title in question is referencing anything other than that exact origin of the racial slur, not what you believe is a modern 'term of endearment."

Anaryl, persons trying to use the racial slur in question as a term of endearment are doing so because they too are ignorant. Jay-Z and Kanye West are not good role models. If you really think racial slurs are so awesome because you can just change the definition of words whenever you please then I challenge you to go around calling people racial slurs in real life and explaining to them that you are expressing your endearment towards them.

I assure you, the vast majority of what you call 'black people', still find the racial slur in question to be offensive. Do you really base your opinion of what is socially acceptable on what you hear in rap music? Do you also support murder and thievery? Those 'artists' you mentioned sold a lot of albums to ignorant people like yourself, that does not mean they get to redefine what a word means.

Moderation is done for the majority, not the minority. You are in the minority on this racial slur opinion of yours.

It is very pitiful if you really think the United States of America is the only country in the world where this racial slur is offensive. More likely, you are jealous of that country's prosperity. Perhaps you were rejected citizenship because you kept saying nigger and are bitter. QQ America did not let past the border. We got something right for once. The annivesary of your rejected citizenship application should be a national holiday.

I will waste no more time with you, Anaryl. Good luck with trying to make racial slurs socially acceptable in FAF. I dare you to back up your post and see if you can get away with using racial slurs frequently in FAF. No on will miss you when you are gone.

Using racial slurs shows little more than one's ignorance and blind hatefulness. A person using racial slurs usually does not recognize that they are only harming their own image.

Racial slurs often are a result of Racism. Racism is from my understanding the attributing of certain characteristics to someone based on their heritage rather than on them as an individual. Racism is also a subconscious tendency for people to notice a person's skin color as one of their first characteristics. Next time you see a stranger of a different heritage than yourself that is clear in their physical appearance, ask yourself this question: What was the first thing I noticed about this person? If your answer is their skin color, then you are likely not focusing on the more important factors which define a person. Try to look at their character and not their appearance. The same thing applies for seeing someone who is more massive than you. Do you immediately think that they are fat, or do you notice that they are helping a disabled person across the street? A person's actions are what defines their character, not their physical appearance. Even with the case of someone who you see as lazy, you may be assuming too much. A large person on their couch watching TV with a huge plate of food on their lap may have just spent all day saving babies from a burning building, yet many would look at this person and say they are fat and lazy. They really may be quite muscular, had a long day of risking their life to help save the lives of strangers and need the calories because of their recent physical exertions.

TLDR: Judge a person by their actions, not by their appearance.

And I don't see a single good reason why that term should be used in the game or the lobby.

No, it's derived from “negro”, which used to be considered the correct term for a black person but which is now itself recognised as offensive because it implies that they are inferior to white people. The term we're discussing is more offensive still because even when “negro” was considered the proper term, “nigger” was used in an insulting and aggressive way. In America particularly it's closely linked with the slave trade.

its a racial slur for African-Americans here in the States, but its term really means any sort of lazy person, but has such been used mainly in connection with African-Americans as I said....think of it this way....The Swastika really means peace(Correct me if I'm wrong) in Tibet, but Hitler and the Nazi Party took it and used it as their party symbol and has since been demonized....so in all reality any lazy person, black,white,hispanic, or Asian, could be a N-word...but society doesn't see it that way in this day and age. hope that helps.
