A page I made that compared the cost/buildrate of many units.

the only event where reclaiming the mex will actually bring you mass, is when you reclaim a t2 mex (~810 mass) and build a t3 quite fast (at least faster than 135 secs (without storage) / 90 secs (with storage), then it pays off)

Yes, same price.
but always build a T1 mex first et upgrade it because while the T1 mex is upgrading to T2 it will produce as a T1 mex.
(unless you are able to build your T2 mex extremely fast :) )

When considering upgradable units, how is that handled in the unit database? For example:

T1 Mex - Mass: 36, Energy: 360
T2 Mex - Mass: 900, Energy: 5400

What does the T2 Mex cost represent? Is it as if it was build directly by a T2 Engi, or is it the upgrade cost? or are they in fact the same? else, if considering the upgrade cost, should I be subtracting the T1 Mex cost from the T2 Mex cost to get the real upgrade cost?

I hope this makes sense

means if you build a landfac with your acu ( 300 /10 = 30 ) you will need 30 seconds

Sorry if this has been answered before but I have done a number of searches of these forums and have found nothing.

In the Unit Database all units have a build time, and all "building units" also have a build rate, I have some questions:

1. How is build time measured? Does the figure in the database represent seconds in-game?

2. How is the build rate measured? What does the figure in the database represent?

3. How does the build rate interact with the build time?

Thanks in advance!

1. build time == build rate * real time, comparable to: distance == velocity * time
build time == real time when you build with a single mantis, which has a build rate of 1/s
2. build rate == build time / real time, comparable to: velocity == distance / time
3. left as an excercise to the reader
