As the Map Editor uses doesn't use files from FA, but from SupCom Vanilla, there for sure is no patch to 3599 ;)

I think (!) the Steam version of Vanilla is equal to the retail version. For that, it should work. However, I don't know if steam limits the access to the Files in the ...\Steam\Steamapps\... folder. So far, maybe try to copy all the Vanilla Folder to somewhere else and remove all file protections. As well as try to launch the Editor as Administrator, of course.

1. run as admin ( you should do that anyway)
2. run in compability mod xp
3. EDIT: ups brainlag
4. try on another PC (you can do this by just copying it, as long you do not want to run SupCom but only the mapeditor)
