there is absolutely no way to improve this curve, except better offer tuturials perhaps

I dont want to be offenisive, but i dont see your point viable, more or less everything you say is that FA was too difficult and PA should be a casual RTS game like it comes out every month. I know that PA is not FA2 (even if i would have wished) but that does not mean i do not hope that i keeps some good elements from here and not turns into a APM/big explosions game. Also, if they do this not only me will be be disapointed.

I absolutely agree that it should keep the good elements and not turn into an explosions game... judging from the video however explosions are a big focus now :(

PA will be nice if it addresses the problems without losing the good elements of the game. However, I'm not sure they will, I'm betting that in the future my two RTS games will be FAF and SC2:HotS/LotV.

I think that although the economy is so hard to master (*understand), it provides one of the best things about the game, if not the best thing about the game. Its definately one of those things that has hooked us to playing this game 5 years after release, when all support has been withdrawn for it. Now that shows FA has done something right.

I'm not sure.

Let me stress that I do not know what should be changed to improve this without losing too much...

I am only observing that properly upgrading the mexes is too much of a deterrent to start playing the game.
In SC2, when you are a new and stupid player, you will be outnumbered 1 to 2 in the first engagements (assuming you are not zerg rushd or proxy'd). With a 1:2 disadvantage you might win one defensive battle, and you won't be steamrolled.

In FAF it is closer to a 1:10 disadvantage and you are properly steamrolled. - and this is because of the economy.

Once again, I'm not suggesting any changes, but this is too much of an obstacle to start playing.

Also, it should be easier to see what level a mex is - preferably from strategic view. As it stands now it is somewhat of an annoyance to the players that you have to zoom in or click it to see the level, for viewers it is a big problem because a viewers (via commented video) cannot zoom in or click to see it... whereas it is very easy to judge economy in SC2 by simply counting the mining bases

FAF does have some problems;
in my opinion:

  • It is easy (for commentators) to miss important events
  • Boring pitfalls related to ACU snipes

If PA addresses these ...

[what i now understand ] it will be like supcom 2, lame and gone soon

you cant mean this serious, dont you?

If PA addresses these and in general shows promise as an e-sports candidate then I will definitely go there.
However, as they made no mention in their video of critical concepts such as balance, competitiveness, e-sports... or anything related, there is no way to say if they will be appealing or not.

Hopefully it will be 100% moddable so I expect to see interesting things coming from it , but it seems clear to me that we are all waiting for another game to come (which does not exist yet) : a new Forged Alliance. No shitty things like dynosaurs , c&c economy and so on . Just FA with an updated graphic engine for multicores, obv strategic zoom , 100% moddable.

After which, I'll continue to play FA.

But this is just how I feel about it, having not played PA yet, so take it FWIW.

True. And yet, it was the only RTS to include the Strategic Zoom to come out since. So, basically the only RTS I could play since Supreme Commander.

Really, what gives?

This. I didn't stop playing Supreme Commander when Sins of a Solar Empire came out. A game with much of the same ambitions, it took lots of nice cues from Supreme Commander with the exception of the simulation aspect.

But Sup Com can't be replaced for me.

If only Sup Com 2 had improved the pathfinding but still kept the spirit of the game...
