Damn I hate it when the frigging ISP disconnects One question; are you sure it's not the router? The router my ISP gave me disconnects itself regularly, but it is better than the old router I was using before. Also, I have not had one router that doesn't disconnect yet Gonna try a Billion next as they are supposed to be the dogs bollocks in terms of routers We'll see

Never quit intentionally, never will.

However my crappy ISP does not give me any other choice.....

Sometimes I've had games where I know I'm winning, but can't be bothered with the micro to finish it (on big maps for instance) so I've just let them kill my comm even though I was gonna win. This is normally due to frustrations with a player whom I was expecting to crumble more easily but is still holding out.

i think the best way to quite is to run into some defence: you enemy has the feeling of victory and you ended the game fast
(and in 1 of 100 games your enemy does somethine, really really stupid and you win )
so it's way better than just crtl-k

After playing Starcraft and other RTS games i find it rude to not ctrl+k or quit, most of the time you just drag the game out for another 5-10 minutes and that's considered bm in most games.

Sometimes i feel if i made a stupid enough mistake my opponent deserves the win and i don't regardless of if i can win or not so i'll just give them the win as punishment to myself for making mistakes, i tend not to learn from them otherwise especially if i go on to win the game, ill forget i even made a mistake.

Just type GG and quit the game. I don't see what's the big deal. If you don't think you can come back, it's your decision to quit or not. I don't get it how a lot of people here seem to take quitting as bm.. it's normal in every other game.

I'll quit any ranked game on a map I don't like. Elsewise, I only very rarely quit.

I'm used to never quit, but in some circumstances, you might consider it.

1. You play well-known for you good player, you know, you messed BO up, lost all the early engies etc. When you quit, you make it possible for you not to lose time. You can play an extra game instead of wasting time in hopeless one.
2. You feel like not having fun. You can quit even winning, considering the game is going to take like 30 minutes extra and your friends are calling you to a party.

All this is about 1v1s as in team games you have obligations to your teammates.

If you just dislike person, you are playing against you can also hide you stealthed comm in an corner of map under water (you could off-map it in transport with deceiver in past, but that's fixed now) and go to party.

there are two types of people who should think about other possibilities:

1) these who quit with having a base, they should try to win. it's still possible
2) these who run away with the ACU as their only unit, hiding somewhere in water to drag the game on for no real reason. these people can't win, they're just annoying

If you're actually in a position that you can't come back from, just march ahead with the ACU.

Most times when people quit they haven't actually lost though. I've had somebody quit because I took out his hydro engineer at 1:30 on Canis River - he could have easily come back from that setback, but instead he quit and didn't get to figure out how to deal with it.

There's a lot of satisfaction in winning a match, and I don't think it's fair to deny your opponent his justified victory. Or do like Zock says and Ctrl-K, but you only really need to do this if your entire base has been overrun and your ACU is in the middle of the ocean, Rambo-com is a better option in most cases.
