maybe hide player names/rank in ladder game
give random name. so they wont quit 50% ('lost') of the games

Dont do this. I think most people, myself included, like to know who they are playing against and his rank. Besides, I dont see the problem in players quitting. Lets say they quit 50% of the games. Then they still need to win those other 50%. Besides, correct me if Im wrong but winning against a lower ranked player is less valued according to the system then winning agianst higer ranked player.

And lets just assume they get to the top of ranked because of all the quitting. They will have to play all the pros. Then we have 2 options.

1. Because of their high rating they keep getting paired op with pros and they lose. They will drop in rating.

2. Because of their high rating they keep getting paired op with pros and they fare well against them. If they can compete with the pros they deserve to be ranked as such and there isnt a problem.

If this is to continue , let them have 10000 games under their belt too.
No more having 500 players in aeolus, only 50 of them actually playing.
I would add, no more 5000 players in your records, only 500 of them actually appearingi n aeolus at a point in time and....
no more 5000 players in the records and only 2000 of them in the ladder and only 1000 of them actually playing the ladder .

bah, league system is meaningless anyway. Ladder and Global rating are the only things that matter.

i agree. it is still not perfect. for someone like myself, who quits 50% of ladder games right away, depending on map,
the trueskill rating isnt accurate.

But yes, the idea of the league system was to make people playing more 1v1, so I think it's actually a good thing :)

There are now players topping the ladder with over 3,000 games! I found this figure quite amazing. If you add the number of games played by the top seven players on the 1v1 ranking you still won’t break 3,000 games.

I am not saying the scoring system is wrong, just that this is an interesting side effect.
:)
