Actually, i believe that in ships, gunboats and such there is space for crew and passengers, for 2 reasons: 1. all planes have cockpits and some ships(if not all) have command bridge visible, that suggests that when the ACUs came with robotic armies existing ships/planes/tanks that had human crew before were just fitted with AI cores, and nobody ever bothered to update them so they won't have them. .

Also, Command units are extremely expensive and difficult to produce, whereas standard combat units are not.

I think that the designs are meant to be useable even without the presence of an ACU so that various colonies and bases can retain some defense capacity when command units are not present. They have cockpits and bridges in the event that people will need to pilot them manually, even if those are not normally used.

BTW, a Mi-26 helicopter can easily fit 80 people inside.

Well yeah but t2 gunboat can clamp on a truck that seriously increases its capacity, and this was how much ppl can it take comfortably without taking up any corridors.

On the matter of scale. It's mostly the ground units that are much larger than the sort of things we have today. Ships are indeed not as large and I don't know about planes, but B52 bombers are quite big too.

are you leaving room for engine components and such? lets see a czar

Yes i am trying to take care about such stuff, that is why t2 gunship can only take 28 or so soldiers.

when you see an ACU next to a tree, you could also get an idea of the scale of units...
