That used to be the case, but we had idiots left right and centre kicking anyone with ping over 100... Some people just don't understand the whole 500ms thing.

I'd at least like the option or maybe be able to set filters preventing someone from joining if their connection wasn't up to par.

Better yet... Base the ping from the user to the FAF server instead of from player to player. Least this way there is a common point of reference that everyone can use. Currently ping ratings are very much open to allot of interpretation and this causes so much drama while the groups are forming.

Measured Latency - 450 = latency score (cannot go below 0)

Packet loss 0-2% good
2-5% OK
5-10 bad
10+ unplayable?

Not sure on how resilient supcom is to packet loss so above figures may need to be tweaked.

Maybe the above is too complicated and we just need a tool tip that states that under 500 is not noticed as that is built into the game?

Either way bandwidth used by Supcom is pretty minimal...

AFAIK there is a netlag of 500ms built into game and anything over that is not noticed in game...

I am in australia... on a stable connection attenuation on my ADSL line is about 20db about 15mbit down 3mbit up. running on cisco router (887M) and cisco 3750G switch. But due to my distance latancy is often between 200 and 400 ms depending on who I am connecting to. Have never had LAG unless connecting through the proxy due to the double hop increased latancy.
