If this is possible i think this would be a good solution. The cost of the SCUs are lowered already a lot and for the updates there is no need for any bonus.

I will sometimes find myself altering these pre-sets with exactly the sort of SCU I need to deal with the current situation.

I can see why adjacency could be an issue for quantum gates. I had not considered this before... Also, another minor bug is that the Pre-set SCU's don't have access to the Build Mode hotkeys. For this reason I am more inclined to upgrade my builder SCU's from the base model anyway.

SCU are not equal in terms of RAS. Sera have none, same for Teleporter ability (Aeon and Sera exclusive). Adjacency with t3 pgen and mass extractors make SCU RAS presets and SCU teleporter presets much easier and cheaper to get than individual upgrades. To put it simply : it's not balanced to have them. On the other hand, increasing the price so that it's still fair with adjancency is unfair for people who wants to upgrade a SCU they bought before and intends to specialize later. These are the reasons why RAS and teleporter presets were not included.

As for the 1000 damages death nuke, it also ensures tha SCU leave no wreck after they are killed, which is very good, and you can send them in when you know they will die anyway. SCU are not meant to be used by armies of 50 like any t3 units. It's better to have 10 of them with powerful upgrades than 50 unupgraded ones. And upgraded SCU just laugh at 1000 damages.
