Amen!

If right now you can only see 7 out of 28 pings in a 4v4 game, it would be a nice start to show all 28 pings to everyone.

That's actually too crazy of a request. We could take the ping bar we have now, divide it into 28 boxes and color code the relative ping (green good, red bad).

Now in a game, if everyone has a red block and one guy has 8.... that other guy is the problem. If two guys both have red blocks in the same spot, they have a problem between them.

Not perfect, but I'd say feasible.

Plus instead of some (apparently) misleading information you have lots of it.

Removing flags really shouldn't be on the table. If even for the minor fact it makes it easy to tell why your teammates aren't replying to your english coms.
At first thought, it might be enticing to remove flags from lobby, but keep on them in-game score board -as a comprise. Bad idea! If you do that, people that rage with aussies in their game will respond by jumping out of the games (with auzzies in the score board) early, making everyone on the server disturbed. And rightly so, the guy that left was a jerk, but you'd also subconsciously blame the auzzie cause he's the reason the jerk got irate.

So now people will have two reasons to dislike playing with aussies. A) lag and B) having to go threw the hassle of making a match only to have it ruined by a guy ditching at min .1.

People would be less tolerant to both than either alone (fact).

So yea, can't remove the flags at all. Have to to figure out that 'make the ping bar more reflective of reality' solution work.

It seems to be the easiest way forward. But now my question is to Zep, is flags being removed something you will do?

Also is there a way to change the colour of the ping bar when it is over 500? currently it is green, but this seems to be an issue for the uneducated player. Obviously when you see the ping bar its telling you there is an issue; but they see it as green and maybe? think its still alright.

You're being both ignorant and hypocritical.

This thread has run its course. We should remove the flags and never display ping if it's less than 500.

Shouting about things being facts doesn't make them any more or less true. Anecdotal evidence actually is no evidence. It is not a fact that most of the Aussies lag just because you 'experience' it. In fact, when a lot of people (in your experience) believe it is it might still not be a fact (still anecdotal). I can understand that you think it is a solution to discriminate based on country, but it really isn't something to be desired. Actually, wherever I go I see some of my fellow dutchies behave like assholes in quite a lot of the communities I've participated, yet I don't judge a fellow dutchy by it's flag, but by it's behavior. Your behavior in this thread is the best example of a reason that the flags should just be removed in the lobby.

Learn to read. Especially the italic portions.

Facts are facts. That you have a problem with the definition of the word "fact" because you don't particularly like a certain fact... that's your problem. Just don't make it everyone's problem.

So we just wont worry about him. His replies have proved more for the reason why change needs to occur than I could ever do on my own. So I will say thanks for that.

You never had to worry about me. Yes; change needs to occur. There needs to be a reliable indicator for lag; just like the CPU score is quite reliable now, there should be something to test for lag. Right now; lagging and non-lagging aussies both get the same ping bar: none.

No bar. Latency will not be an issue

That's misleading, because right now a whole bunch of aussies don't show a ping bar, but do lag. That is the biggest reason a lot of people kick them all. Right now the only reason to find out if a certain aussie lags is to play a game with them. From time to time I do that, and that way I can label them one by one as bringing lag, or not bringing lag. Example: K-Hole: he says he won't lag.... but he does... bigtime. Other example: Alroys [NZ]; does not lag at all. If there is a way to get people a rating for winning / losing, there should be a way to get people a rating for lagging / not lagging.

A green bar for issues... yeah right.

If you see a green bar the latency will cause an issue.
Yellow bar no connection has been established between the two players.
Red - (im not even sure what it means :P)

The more educated members of the community realise this but the uneducated are still apart of the community and its our responsibility to make sure they are informed.
