I am currently experiencing the same error and have been experiencing it occasionally before.
I blamed my shitty connection for it which loses packages all the time

oh and i also lost the connection to the servers before (which is why i tried restarting) - but i think i was still able to chat privately (not 100% sure if i dropped after or before)

Same here. I would be in game, go to join another, wait 2-3 minutes, and FA wouldn't start, so I'd try to relog, and it would give me the server under maintenance error (on a related note, for the last few months, if I got that error, simply trying to start FAF again made it go away and I could play).

Just for info I had to problems at least a dozen times before his days (around one week).

Can not join or create a game, and if you close FAF 'down for maintenance'.
Sometimes it can cut 5 minutes as it can cut one hour.
