Tech Support • How to point FAF at a different game .exe?

How would one go about pointing faf at a different exe. So when a match is created, instead of running 'SupremeCommander.exe' it runs 'anselintegrationtestapp.exe' instead? Which is pretty much the same exe, just enabled Nvidiea freestyle/game filters for ebtter PostFX controll then this 10+ year old game allows.
Wanna check it out yourself run " mklink /H anselintegrationtestapp.exe supremecommander.exe " in a command prompt inside your supcom folder.

Is it unnecessary, yes, and?

Tech Support • Replay Could Not Be Started

I tried opening a replay of a game I just played, but got an error instead. I was able to open up other replays, so it seems that it's an issue with this replay specifically. When I try to use the replay URL, I get a 404 page.

Have you tried:

- running the program as an administrator?
- uninstalling and reinstalling FAF, including removing any registry entried that might exist
- refreshing your DNS. Go into cmd and type "ipconfig /flushdns"
- removing any new network devices you might have added such as VPNs
- forwarding the ports on your router (if you are NAT'd).
- reinstalling windows from fresh

Which just keeps spamming

I have my ports open(DMZ) and my firewall disabled.
I tried reinstalling faf and deleting the faf folder but didn't help.
It also causes the windows dns process to flare up to 100% + the client on my ryzen 2600.

Tech Support • graphical glitch: black strings reaching in to the sky

Hi there,
I recently built a new machine and have FAF installed.
I've played a few skirmishes and keep encountering, at random, strange graphical glitches.
Specifically, buildings and/or trees will have "strings" or "lines" reaching from the ground up, infinitely, in to the sky. These strings also cast a shadow across the landscape.
I've searched the forums and haven't found anything relevant just yet.

Has anyone else encountered this before, and fixed it?

So whenever I'm on FAF and click on the "play tab" games no longer show up and when I try to start my own the "Connecting to Update Server" box appears but never shows any progress (photo attached) and I just get stuck there. Because of this I am no longer able to play the game. If anyone knows how to correct this issue or can figure it out I'd greatly appreciate it. As for payment I can submit it through Paypal, Venmo, or whatever you prefer.

Tech Support • "An Uncaught Exception" prevents me from playing the game

Hi everyone, I'm unfortunately no longer able to start a new game. When I try I get a connect to server box that never shows any progress. Eventually "An uncaught exception" box appears with the following info pasted below. I'd greatly appreciate any help in regards to correcting the issue.

Tech Support • UEF M5 Forge Co-op Bug - map not expanding

I've tried playing M5 Forge co-op twice now (with another player) and both times the map fails to expand/progress after destroying the 3rd strategic missile launcher.

I also tried it playing solo (through FAF) and didn't have the same issue (after a minute or two it progressed).

My replay.log didn't update for either game but I've attached the game log from after exiting out of each of the games where the issue occurred, and the fafreplay file from the 2nd attempt.

I cannot see any custom games nor can I access the vault to look at maps I get 404 not found when I go to the vault, I cannot start a game in lobby it does not load. Please advise.

Now I get error "The file wasn't properly sent to the server"

What is latest release for java client ?

I like it because it allows to host/join game + play local replay.

Tech Support • FAF lanuncher crashes

Hello

I have problem with FAF launcher crashing on start. Yesterday evening I was playing and everything was fine, but today it doesn't even launch. Every crash log I get looks more less the same. Yesterday after game I updated launcher. I've tried updating client and reinstalling it (resetting pc as well) but nothing seems to help.

I have the same problem. On Monday August 31, I uploaded the new client and installed it. When I tired to run the client it failed with an error message. I then went to the FAF website and downloaded the client from there and got the same error message. My error message was:

However, When I went to delete the folder your recommended, I discovered that I do not have that folder! Help. I cannot start the new client.

I did notice one thing...When I downloaded the client from the client website it took almost 30 minutes. But if I went to the FAF website, I could download it in 30 seconds. ??

It is to bad you cannot save games in single player in faf. I enjoy long games with no online stress against an AI. That I would like to jump back into after work.
