Nothing was changed here. "Allow observers" has had this behavior since forever, and the default value wasn't changed (It's still default=off).

What _was_ changed was that observers were unable to chat unless the chat box was visible and they could click on it.

i agree that we need to separate those 2 settings, it is just annoying sometimes.

I remember how in major 2v2 tournament some one refused to let casters into a game cause it would mean that observers will be on...

You're right, I did not think of that.

The games that I play are not of a level where we have observers. The default "allow observers" sometimes stays on, it used to make no difference. Now it does. Would be nice if we could go back to the way it was, where if you die, you are not made observer of that type, but can still ghost (ping etc.) the old way. Now your "gg" does not even come across to players still playing.

Well if you have observers allowed, one of them can be on voice chat with team and giving advices, so you cant really prevent this completely unless you dont allow obsevers at all.
So this isnt that big of an issue
