One solution is to go to C:\ProgramData\FAForever\bin and change the ForgedAlliance.exe to compatibility mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 2). However for that to work you also have to run FAF as administrator.

any other ideas/input is welcome :)

What has me baffled is that it was working a day or 2 ago and now it doesn't. FA starts just fine when I launch it through steam, but it does not want to load when FAF starts it

I'm running Windows 8.1 64bit with a GTX760, Intel i7 4790k, and 16GB ram

I've tried updating my graphics drivers, Windows update (everything but the windows 10 update itself), and reinstalling my FA client

I'm wondering if the issue is DirectX related, but when I tried to install 9.0 fresh it said something about only being compatible with the older OSes

any help would be much appreciated!
