Well I did find it quite funny that you not only managed to target a plane, but you managed to make it one of your own ones

Just like when you nuke ur own damn base cause your nuke hit a plane when being launched.

Or there was (i think it has been fixed) also the bug when sometimes the nuke missile disappeared once ready

Nothing to fix, just don't mess up :)

Agreed. This will never happen to me again. This is just to save someone else the agony of pulling off a nuke only to find it worthless.

The problem is only noticable for the standard fighting units if enemy units are microed. Then your units obviously miss (everyone is familiar with this). The tactical missiles usually miss since armies of units almost never move at constant speeds along straight levels.

Now, you can litterally extrapolate (which usually gives a HUGE error in statistics) to the strategic missiles. Longer time to move from launching moment towards moment of impact means a longer time for enemy units to move at non-constant speeds and paths that aren't straight, instantly increasing the error to horrendous distances. Since you refer to an air unit, I think of a spy plane or an ASF (bombers and gunships barely have patrol or scout duty)

Those units make any kind of turn, so targeting a strategic missile on such a unit will guarantee you a waste of 5 minutes building and 12000 mass.

The fix could be to let the missiles always target the ground (small script for when a unit is attacked should be enough, targeting experimentals with tacticals is also always done by human analysis and targeting, never done by letting the computer work it out).

It could be that the missiles are just sent towards the place where the targeted unit was when the missiles actually leave the launcher but that is also enough for a huge error.

we had a large laugh about that on the replay :)

like most people tho, i wasnt aware the nukes could track, i would have though that would turn longer games into a camp fest, as armys would now need antinuke coverage

Not that you gave the order over the enemy base, but caused by the lag, the computer reacted while your mouse was somewhere else moving around on the screen?
