turned out for me the issue seemed to be the default ATI drivers baked into windows 8.1 were not playing good with FA I updated to later versions and problem never returned

yes, its quite painful since i have to redownload because of steam and 12k connection
it worked perfectly well before, proof to never touch a running system

The problem first occured directly after i wiped my old HDD.
