that is weird stuff, when you press repair the instalation on the VC++ packages, its suposed to compare the existing files with the packet ones and replace them...

I still think its the issue you had before, some older software is using those files and not letting the packets replace them, however if that worked for you, good to know.. have some fun playing

fixed! I deleted the msvcr.dll files from both system32 and syswow64 folders and then reinstalled the x86 2010runtime. and bang, i was in..

Updated to windows 10 and still get the error about C++ runtime being missing. Although i will admit i did run as admin so i could get past the permissions issue since i cant seem to find the file that the forever.log is located in to change the permissions on it. Regardless it should open and work if the original issue was solved. which it isnt. Im really stuck..dependancy walker seems to have same issues if not more since update...totally lost. please help

I cant reinstall OS since i cant find my install disc anywhere. tried a few other things but no joy yet. currently going through updating windows fully, then might try and upgrade to win10 if all else fails

what is your operative system ? (EDIT: its windows 7, I missed that)

the VC 2010 you installed is the correct one so, it should have solved your problem, maybe you can try a clean install , follow this guide :
