At first I thought it could be because my internet connection decides to drop for a second but that was perfectly alright.

Will posting logs help this WiP? I'm going to do it anyway. It may be the only thing to help reduce my level of upsetness.

Firts of all i joined FAF just before the server change so i can't say if it was better before, but since after the server change it was quite a common issue i didn't paid it too much mind, i came back recently and saw that the situation seems definitely improved for most people, but not for me and a few others it seems.

I can say that these disconnetions dont seems to be completely random, there are certain players with which i've a very high chance of disconnects during the game and other with which i can play for hours without any issue, that would imply that this is actually some network issue, on the other hand i've got the same network setup and isp (20mb adsl) for quite some years now, during which i played many online multiplayer games, and i never had any kind of similar issue, so to the very least it's not ONLY my network, but the way it works with FAF the problem. It may be also worth mentioning that i never lag during games, everything is fine until the sudden disconnection.

Also what Hzale said
Hzale wrote:
Were those two players not connected in lobby and established the connection after refaffing? Same happened to me and it was always with the guy i had no connection in lobby. After refaffing we were connected but then dropped connection after some minutes ingame.

is definitely true, i've noticed that there is much higher chance of disconnetion with those players you had connection issues in the lobby, but sadly it's still possible to disconnects even with players you had no such issues.

We don't currently support live reconnection during games when peers disconnect, this was never supported.

It's a work in progress though.

I hope so, for me and any other guy in my position this is THE major FAF issue, to the point you stop playing or are have to play only ladder
to avoid the risk of ruining the game for all those on your team.

Right now there is poll on what the devs should focus on in the future and "fixing server issues" is the leading option, i voted for that hoping that this disconnection problem will be fixed too (even if it might not be entirely server related).

i doubt that to be honest, i have this problems since the last major serverpatch. My local net didnt change for more than a year.

Edit: probably this is caused by the changes to the proxy, although im not rlly into that stuff

I'm surprised to read that.
I havn't plaid in a few weeks, but last I did, it was expected that people would disconnect by pair in lobby, with having to "refaf" as a usual thing to fix it, and then on numerous games having pairs disconnecting during the game, to the point that people stopped insulting each other for bad connection because it had become just an expected thing noone could do anything about.

If it's people's networks, that's a whole lot of bad networks.

My best guess is that the cause of this is local network setups, and not actually anything to do with FAF. Interestingly the client does appear to send a bunch of messages to the server when people lose connection, so there might be some way to use that to reconnect people (if someone feels like coding it).

Also CookieNoob your game log has a bunch of random stuff in it, seems you've got a UI mod that is putting debug messages into your log.
