I know I am necroing this but... This has been done, Chosen. It has been done and now there is a program that selects maps and it is not prejudiced towards any of them. Link is here: viewtopic.php?f=42&t=13019

Because you will end up with the popular maps being over represented. Which will eventually become over used and stale. Your suggestion of players voting on maps could work. But there are some things which would be required for it to work well.

1. The overall number of maps in a current rotation should not change
2. The number of 5x5, 10x10, and 20x20 maps should not change
3. Maps should only be accepted into the vote if they meet requirements for aesthetics, balance, and playability. Maps should be GPG level quality.
4. Only 50% of the maps in the current pool will be rotated out, and all maps in the pool will remain in for two rotations only.
5. Maps which have been rotated out in the previous pool selection will be ineligible for selection in the current vote.

yay a different person to beg sheeo to get on and change the maps around

if only we could upload new maps for people to play? too bad, we were told to wait and that noone wants new maps, sucks for you i suppose.

Who ever he is ? He keep choosing these same old shit maps over and over...
Why not peoples who actual plays ladder can't choose couple map's ??? Example each top #3 leagues could choose couple maps, if they are active ladder player..
Why we don't get a brand new ones maps ? example some team games maps ? doesent matter which one...
Why we do not get some sort voting system about ladder map pool, what really maps peoples want's to ladder.
Why were not asked opinion for all, what they think about etc...... and not one or two who choice these "!#¤ ladder maps over and over.
