Check again if the path is correct (i.e. the correct slashes...). You should be able to run the .exe from the FAForever folder...is that where you installed Forged alliance? You need to link the client to the installation of FA, not the /bin folder in your FAForever folder. (this might be a normal line, I cant test it atm)
