Spoiler: show

Torp bombers

TORP bombers
Torp - torpedo. Torpedo bombers. Not depth charge bombers, TORPEDO bombers. They shoot torpedoes, which, by definition, are supposed to hit surface and submerged units. Moving on,

depth charges

DEPTH charges
Depth means something underwater. They charges are not supposed to hit surface vessels unless, of course, the depth charge is dropped directly onto one. they are supposed to hit underwater stuff.

units that use depth charges include:
aeon destro
czar
aeon t2 torp bomber
technically sera t2 torp bomber
tempest

uef and cyb torps are bugged and thats why they have torpedoes which also ignore them xD

the aeon destro has very deliberately got it disabled vs surface units. thats just balance for you.
in any case depth charges are just used whenever and have no consistency with their use or function, and neither does torpedo defense and its different types

obviously its all fixed in equilibrium where they are used exclusively to ignore torp defense, and everything that uses torpedoes doesnt have them bugged or anything.

Well they are called depth charges for a reason you know. They are not suppose to targed surfaced units, only submerged.

Ah, yes but it's only the destroyers' depth charges that can't. All the other ones do target surfaced units.

Tempest, Czar, Skimmer and Solace also have depth charges. All of them target surface targets with them.

Originally this was an advantage as well, as depth charges aren't affected by torp defenses.

But FAF balance team decided to give depth charge torp defense ignoring properties to all Torp bombers.

EDIT: Checked, Cybran nanite torpedo upgrade is normal torpedo, it gets hit by torp defense.

Pls. Fix.
