For your problem, it's maybe due to a WMI error.

Are you on XP SP2 ? Have you got a firewall or a antivirus ? If so, try by disabling both.
If it doesn't work, I can look at the problem with Teamviewer (don't fear it, I won't break anything, but it's easier for me to see what happens exactly, and I can run some debug mode :), it will be easier for me to debug.

TAG_Seton had the same problem, it solved ... well, I don't know how :)

You can connect through irc to contact me, or pm me on GPGNet when I'm there.

I recently had to reinstall windows and start installation of FAF and such from scratch again.
The problem now is that I can't seem to login with my user. Now as I clearly don't remember my password for certain I had to create a new one just to be certain that wasn't the flaw.

Install:
Downloaded and installed this version: http://88.191.143.136/faforever/FaForeverLobby.msi
Also tried copying the faLobby.lib manually as you mentioned that problem for Taras.
(Note that everything below is tried with original and copied version of this file)

OS:
Fresh install of XP updated with latest patches
Windows firewall disabled
Nothing but Chrome, Steam and SupCom installed. Oh and some drivers for the machine of course. But most importantly I haven't installed any security software which should limit access.
Everything worked perfect before new install of windows.

User:
Created the user abcd with password abcd which I'm using to login with.

The problem is as follows:
Started forged Alliance
Clicked Cancel on the "Welcome to FA Forever Lobby"
Arrive at the login screen
Type in login: abcd password: abcd
Hit Login button.
Nothing happens

If I try to enter a wrong password or no password at all I get the message:
"FA Server down
The server is down for main... etc..."

And it is very clear that it has two different reactions with the correct password and a faulty one. So it clearly reacts to the login.

Apart from me being unable to connect you should probably consider adding the message: "Wrong password" as well as, when you find the time, a function for us helpless people to recover the password when we forget it.

Kind regards,
Pellefant
