please make a proper bug report for the security error.

I will have the FAF owner do it.

P.S. In the past the certificate errors have been caused by a bad battery on the bios causing the bios time to be wrong. This is not the case with the computer that is failing now.

you can't call your local car mechanic, tell him your car doesn't work as intended and demand it to work in 5 mins without telling him anything about the problem

Ok, now I went to my other computer to use the faforever.com/client page to upgrade that computer, click on download, and I get site certificate security errors on both IE and Fox! I reboot and tried again.

I have the same OS rev on both computers.

The way an update should roll out.

A. the client dialog directs you to the update.

B. the client dialog directs you to the download page.

Neither have been successful for me.

https://github.com/FAForever/client/releases/tag/0.12.4

Ok now I see the problem. The 2 hot links on the top of the page: "latest release" and "0.12" are not actually links. the download is at the bottom of the page and requires you to scroll down to find it. The confusion is caused by the 2 links at the top of the page that make you think they don't work because you are not logged into github.

But don't worry that your concerns would be forgotten. I did investigate myself this personnel failure and took measures so it won't happen anymore. All FAF employees responsible for this were fired as this was, as you say, outrageous mistake.

I'd like to apologize once more for the inconvenience and I hope you won't need to step out of your confort zone anymore in the future.

Sincerely speed2

Go to the github link, scroll down, click the .msi, launch it, done.

You are right about it being bad that you even have to do that.
But consider that people don't do this for a living and some nice person trying to contribute unfortunately made a mistake.
People make mistakes, that's how it goes.

Software companies need to fix bugs everyday because of it.

PS: let's not throw insults at each other.
