I reset the router and tried the downlord client with no change, I even uninstalled and reinstalled forged alliance and 0.13.0 client in an attempt and nothing. and for some reason I can't attach the new logs to this.

Duke, I located and looked at the updater code - it's not especially pretty, I wouldn't be surprised if it had some buggy corner cases. I actually have some PRs on Github for similar downloaders in the code, so we'll eventually be able to replace it with something clean and reusable.

I think the problem does lie in some weird corner cases with current client's code - until we replace it, I guess the best advice I can give is trying out Downlord's client.

Turned off the antivirus and no changes, I let it resume instead of force closing it and it says file wasn't sent properly by the server with and without the antivirus on. I'm still on win 7 would that be having an effect?

I can't actually see any log output from the game update process, but I suppose that might be because you force-closed it so the log can't be written.

Anyway, this is probably your antivirus. Disable antivirus and the problem will probably go away.

You need to give it an exact map name, with version. You can also try Downlord's client, it might work better.

After checking the map folder it is just full of empty folders could that be the a factor in the problem?
Just tried that link to download the maps manually but keep getting a "403 Forbidden error"

I can't unfortunately tell what goes wrong with the download. What I can tell you, though - the code that handles downloads and progress bar is indeed pretty badly implemented and it does block the main event loop when downloading. I actually have a patch prepared for that, and hopefully it will go in into some future beta release. Until then, I don't know how to fix the downloads, sorry .

Are the downloads only stuck on maps for you? If that's the case, I suppose a clunky workaround would be to manually download the maps from http://content.faforever.com/faf/vault/maps/.zip and unzipping them in your map folder.

I'm bad at explaining things. Whenever I go to join a game or host one the pop ups for downloading faf game data and updates for maps go for a bit then stop at 22 - 30% and at 55 - 60% after clearing the game data and not responding to anything requiring me to clt alt delete to close. last time I Played faf was in december 2016 and it was working fine then. any technology wizards on how I can fix this so I can play again? Not sure if I attached the logs on.
