Just because sound worked in the past doesn't mean reinstalling the audio driver won't fix it. I still get the bug sometimes and the only way I have found to fix it is to install a driver again, even if it is the same driver I already have. It would be nice if computers actually made sense, but they are just a bunch of barely working crap, that nobody understands, all stuck together.

I've got the exact same issue... again. But this time it didn't fix itself. I don't play with mods, all sounds are missing after they play once or twice. The only sound i can hear is the music which plays for 3 seconds, turns off for a minute and then comes back for some time again. I've done the things you told me to do earlier (except for getting the audio driver, I've always had sound in FAF, just doesn't work atm) checked my sounds in the settings, they're turned up the same as always.

(also in the game lobby when a game's hosted, sounds play when hovering over options and players and when clicking the ready button, those work 3 times or so and then break)
edit: dont know if im supposed to post at a [SOLVED] thread but i felt like i might aswell, seeing as im having the same issue.

Alright I have no clue what happened but I didn't do anything. My sounds are back now though lol. I swear I've tried restarting my PC yesterday which didn't work, but I guess it did now xD

personally i can't see anything suspicious in that log
are all sound effects missing? maybe you just have the sound effect bar set to 0 in the in game options?
also try running a game with 0 mods and see if it works then

Not sure if I did this correctly, but this is of a 13 second long game where I was testing if I had fixed the sounds by restarting my PC, however I was still experiencing sound issues like no sound when selecting a factory.

please try the solutions suggested here
if none of them works then please post a game.log file of a game where you have issues with your sound

Hello, as of today I've been having sound issues. Most of the sounds would only play once, like the sound when I select a unit and after that no more. This includes the sounds when in a lobby, for example when pressing the "Ready" button. I've tried to look for other people with the same issue on the forums but can't find any recent posts. My sound was fine a couple of days ago and I have no clue what could've caused it or what I can do to get my sound back... I'd prefer not to resort to clearing game.prefs, as I've done this before and it did nothing but delete my settings and hotkeys.
