ok and how do i do that?

how do i create a .lua file?
where does the game expect it? (c:/programdata/faforever/bin/fa_path.lua)?
and how/where do i put " 'fa_path = <D:\Spielplatz\Supreme Commander FA>' "?

im an utter noob when it comes to stuff like this...

edit: i tried to just copy a .lua file and rename it. should that work?

It's a regular text file, just saved with a .lua extension. You got the target path right. Just write 'fa_path = "<path to your retail supcom installation here>"' (with the double quotes) with notepad and save it as fa_path.lua and you should be fine.

neither in my fafclient folders on c:\ or d:\ nor in my scfa folder...

is there something i have to do first to get it created?
for example, i dont think i ever played a game since i installed faf client. my last game online was around the time fa came out, maybe even still on gpg.net...

i notice the install path is wrong. my game is on d:\faf and not c:\....
but then why should the other replays work?

i have no mods installed.

hope im not violating any forum rules here, tried to look out for rules, checked the search thingy, nothing found.

thanks in advance
