I have already thanked you for trying to help Philip. I have provided my solution and I have marked the thread as resolved. I have tried to be as polite as possible in this thread, following your suggestions right through to marking it as resolved.

But I have to say these comments from you "probably cause you ran the other client with admin rights in the past" and "did you even try the suggestions i gave" have me seriously triggered. Nothing I love more than someone making incorrect assumptions, being condescending while simultaneously not providing a solution, all in the same reply.

There is nothing wrong with my Windows file permissions. Why would my Windows file permissions suddenly become an issue right after I had updated the FAF client? And ONLY when trying to run the client? As stated, the previous client was running perfectly. My operating system and file permissions have always worked perfectly and still do.

Why would you assume that I ran the client with Admin rights in the past? Did I say that I did that? What I did say was that up until this point I have never had an issue with the FAF client before. Everything worked as it should. How you then came to the conclusion that not only my issue was related to Windows file permissions, but that this was due to me running the client as an Admin previously....that logic fails me im afraid.

Yes I did try your suggestions. In fact, I totally uninstalled both FAF clients, and deleted the entire FAForever folder from ProgramData. I also wiped the maps folder as suggested. I then started fresh with a new install of the client, went to the 'play' tab, which downloaded a fresh copy of FAF. I still had the exact same problem. I'm also still waiting for you to tell me where the game.log log is located but you appear to have ignored that question entirely.

Your solutions didnt work. My solution did. If it stops working in the 'long run' I will worry about that then. Or, if the client gives me problems in the future, I can just bypass it entirely and just play locally as I don't play online anyway.

I will finish by saying, once again, thank you for trying to help. You are the only person that did. I know you don't get paid to respond and I appreciate your input. I am well aware that you owe me absolutely nothing. But I also think your attitude is terrible, and that you should never assume anything. Take from that what you will.

the game.log file would probably help a lot

but the client log also shows that many maps are missing the scenario.lua files - i recommend you wipe your map folder in

for a start

i also recommend you wipe the entire bin and gamedata folder in

since the permission error might be related to messed up windows file/folder permissions

Hey Philip just wanted to say thanks for your help. I now seem to have solved everything I was having issues with. I have removed links to pastebin. This thread can be marked as "resolved" (or deleted) if there is such a function.

Thanks.

However using the FAF client (both stable and beta) continues to crash, which points to the client I would have thought. As these problems only started when I updated the client I would again think this points to the client. Would there be any merit in completely uninstalling the client and installing it again I wonder?

Thanks.

I then went to the FAF website and downloaded the latest client, which is the beta client 0.10.6-beta, but I am again receiving an error when trying to create custom match.

I never have had any issues with the FAF client before now. Can someone please check my error code below? Hopefully it's something simple. Thanks!
