if you set the toggle in the client settings to use the fallback directory then the client will store the files in ProgramData

if the client is told to store stuff in the fallback directory then it will continue to save maps and mods in ProgramData
make sure you don't have the toggle for the fallback on if you want to use the user folder

also if you do stuff and you still need help cause you couldn't fix your issue then post new log files as well

so i went to check the programdata maps folder again and it is there again, it downloaded the map there

I noticed that the map is in the user folder aswell, so how do i get the game to use that folder instead ?

the fallback option was added because the game cannot deal with non-Ascii chars which people may have in their windows username

since your windows username is fine you can just use the user folder and not store your mods and maps in ProgramData

If you store your mods and maps in ProgramData then the steam/retail version of FA won't be able to see them since it doesn't look at that directory

you can see a complete list of all your loaded mods and maps at the beginning of your game log
if you set the toggle in the client settings to use the fallback directory then the client will store the files in ProgramData

I recommend you use either one or the other and clean up the directory you don't want to use since using both doesn't sound like a great idea

I don't think it's related to the map file itself since everyone would who installs that map would have that issue in that case

your OS is probably telling the client that the user folder is somewhere else than where the game thinks it is

if the map itself would be (slightly) broken you'd probably manage to get into the FAF patched lobby but the game would fall back to the default scenario which is four corners

So, there are some versions of maps (for example setons reworked or dual gap version 6 I think) that when the game launches in FAF and its about to put me ingame, it switches to Supreme commander: forged alliance game menu (like the one when you launch it through steam), anyone knows how to fix this ?
