ok, I think I figured it out.

There's a conflict with another mod.
T3 Engineering Stations FAF V6

This mod seems to kill icons.

Should I report it somewhere specifically?

Icon support is baked in. Don't use the mod.

Hiya,

I've been using playing with the FAF ACU mod, (v12 I believe is the latest?)
I'm soooo glad it's back!

Not sure if there's conflict with some other mods, but the commander upgrade icons are just blank yellow squares.
I seem to recall a few weeks ago that the icons were actually working?
I heard icon support is getting baked into the base FAF now? Maybe it's just something that's in-between implementation?

I presume this is already a known issue?
Just wanted to throw my vote in there that this is something I play and would love to see it get fixed.
