Am I right in thinking initial counter to T2 PD spam is mobile missile launchers? What's the best way to deal with them once they've built up a shielded group of T2 PD with TMD - is it artillery then? All this assuming air is covered since I guess that would be the best way if possible. Thanks

Pretty new here, thought I was getting better before getting absolutely trounced in this game. Could anyone help point out the big mistakes please, only short (on account of getting completely run over).

I've spotted a few myself, my com moved to build the intial things because they were just outside the radius, should've given him a move order. Probably my biggest error was power stalling for a bit, and I don't seem to have enough factories compared to him whatsoever. Any advice would be much appreciated!

And kudos to the developer(s) of this client, impressively stable + bug free for independent software, and tons of nice features.

Edit - found some of ColonelSheppards vids on build orders and that, watching those to sort that side out. I think when I was first learning I learnt a few build orders but recently just been doing whatever which does lead to some cock ups.

Edit2 - what does make me feel a little bit better is he just ran over a 1650 rated player in much the same way, but doesn't change what my mistakes were! Is there any protection to stop good players creating new accounts and trouncing the beginners?

Firstly-the main advantage your opponent had over you was that he lacked any sort of rating whatsoever. This gives him a big psychological advantage. You can't help but think "Oh well, he's a n00b, this is gonna be easy". I have been taken out like this countless times, a couple of times by players with a minus rating!

Secondly if you notice in the replay his factory waypoints are set to your base, when your opponent starts a stream of units to your base like this it is really important to disrupt the flow otherwise you get overrun in short order. His early aggression really wins him the game, the early comrush is real difficult to counter on Finn's. The only real count is to have your ACU nearby to defend whilst you spam up a few point defenses.

Thanks, yes you're so right, the rating definitely plays on your mindset and makes you think you'll win easy! Hmm maybe I need to make similar opening moves to him on Finns to match the aggression.

My thinking is that it's down to me building pure engineers after the first few LABS from the first factory, whereas he builds hunters + mantises as well, and his successful raid down the right. Anything else I should be doing different? Any helps appreciated, thanks.
