You are essentially saying that we should give people a ticket that says: "Spam every 24 hrs." If nobody cared about spam it wouldn't be in the rules.

Why briang? what real harm have they done? spam ten lines -> get removed. Spamming is not detrimental to the community, its just annoying. You ban em for 24h and that person wont spam for that period of time. If they come back and spam you just re ban them. Not hard, but not worth the escalating bans

This removes the real gravity held by bans. I don't really like it TBH. If somebody spams 10 times they shouldnt just be banned 24 hrs every time. That seems ridiculous to me.

A suitable punishment for the most recidive people could be a forced displacement to Sisyphus - a channel free from the shackles of moderation where its poor bastards will feel the tormenting of thousands lennys and p***s jokes. Who knows, it could evolve into a dynamic and self-moderating hell-hole

People get banned for a bunch of different reasons, yet each ban ups the duration of the last ban regardless of what it is. (Based on my understand, pretty please correct me if I'm wrong so I can amend what I am suggesting)

Example: 1st ban is for insults 24H, 2nd ban is for spamming, 48H, etc

My suggestion is we create different tiers of bans. Something like spamming or Lenny or things that really aren't harmful should not escalate, nor should they hold the same weight as being a d*** to other people.
My proposal
Tier 1 bans:
Lenny, spamming, porn links, (more to be added)
Never more than 12 or 24 hours and doesn't escalate. If the player gets back on and does the same thing just temp ban them again. There's no reason someone should get up to a one week ban just from spamming, and its super easy to tell when someone posts a centipede etc and can very easily be re-banned

Tier 2 ban
Not 100% sure for these
Maybe discussing moderation actions in a bad way (since we are discussing changing the way that rule works in another thread) can't really think of much else but I'm sure we can add things. Starts at a 24 hour ban and leads to a 1 week ban and then that loops.

Tier 3 ban
Insults, mod abuse, abuse, in game exploits.
Starts at a 3 day ban and does escalate up to perm ban in extreme cases.
