The tutorial tab exists and wasn't filled for months.

I'm also certain that nobody wrote any tutorial in the wiki, while anyone can, and it's linked everywhere.

Filling the wiki would be a start. Then I can add the tutorial section of the wiki in the tutorial tab.

If people wants to learn and don't go on the tutorial tab, I highly doubt they will read any block of text. Popup or not.
(that's why I've tried to fill the tutorial tab with replays actually showing things).

Either way, the first thing to do is filling the wiki. Then adding a link to it in a popup is trivial.

as i see it, making a structure of the content, screenshots and texts can easily be done by the community (i'd volunteer to do/assist it), but the integration into the FAF lobby and creating the pop-up window is alot harder us than for you

What if the community gave you 4k euros?

unfortunately everybody, who has donated for galactic war can propose a change to the lobby on which everybody else can decide by vote later on.
this means everybody who already knows how to handle the lobby will vote for an important change/addition to the lobby. therefore nobody will vote for things like these (or other things, which help newbies). this is sad.

the tutorial section in the lobby does not get expanded either, but there is so much potential in it...

i think it should only pop up once for each player (usually after having created a new account and logging in for the first time)

here an example of an existing pop-up

Image

i mean something like this, ofc with other content

what i have in mind is something like some screenshots on stuff like how to chat, how to open private chat, links to the chatrules, then ofc how to host a ''normal'' game, a game with mods, how to sign up for a tourney, link to the tech support section in the forums and some basic stuff like this
then i would add it to the toolbar, so you're able to open it up later

the reason i suggest it is, i've already seen at least 10 people who ask how to host a game or open up private chat, also such a pop-up gives a feeling of comfort to new players, they can easily look such stuff up themselves
