Are you kidding right ?

At the begin only player above 1700 could participate in the balance team and discussion and this for months !!!! This gave enough time to the balance to take a complety different path that by the way had NEVER changed till now in his direction. Not because they were no one wanted them but because they changed the way the balance should be made .... every patch should only bring lillte change to not disturb the gameplay and had to be related only about the previous patch... So pls don't come here and play defenser of the right and order since there is nothing about it here.

This is the drawback about only one featured balance for all the community. A fight about power and influence that left you 2 choice embrasse it or endure it .. If your opinion is not in the "main" stream it simply does NOT matter period. All was done to cut with the 3599 balance.

I look at this like ZEP looks at this, having a ton of different balance mods will make the community collapse all over the place like what happened with all the total annihilation communities. Also I have no idea why you want a new lobby so badly because, atleast for now, faf is still functioning totally fine.

its just a technical limitation that you cannot have a special needs mod that does not appear in the featured mods list.

thats not really a justification, but it can disprove bogus claims.

But Sim mods are a different beast than Featured mods.
You have to search for them, and it's clearly defined as "mod", not "alternate version of the game - Read the 40 pages of changelogs to know the difference".

Featured mods are selected, carefully crafted, and put in front of the player as "special experiences". Not variations, totally different things.
The only exceptions are vanilla and Diamond.

The first one is there because there is no other way to easily play supcom without FA.
Diamond is more complicated. It is a balance mod, and it wasn't allowed in the first place. It has to go through a vote to be featured, and all in all, it's a very different balance than FA, not just slights variations.

Retrospectively I probably wouldn't have integrated it as some people may use that example to justify other balance mods now that I'm no longer in charge.

I will say it again : If you feel like a balance mod has the place as featured, it's most likely that the current balance is lacking something. The solution is to fix it, not to go backward in time and implement random patches as featured mods.
