custom games are custom, they don't need competitive rating.
The rating should be a good indicator of player strength, so that auto matchmaking does a reasonable job and it's easier to balance custom games manually.
The ranking should be some sort of mix between player performance / player afford. On higher levels it should be very competitive. It would be nice to have a real league system where you can first prepare against players with specific tactics maybe even on specific maps and than challenge them. Imagine you have first round / second leg where each player can choose his favorite map / faction ( maybe days, weeks before or at season start) against the opponent. It's like a very long tourney.

Rating / Ranking:
- 1vs1 rating
- team rating
- ladder ranking
- (arranged team ladder ranking)
Game Types
- automatch option for 1vs1 lader and eventually for arranged team ladder
- maybe automatch option for team games
- custom games ( 1vs1 or custom team games)
Ladder and custom 1vs1 should affect the 1vs1 rating number. Though ladder should have greater impact maybe by factor 3. Arranged team ladder, autoteam match and custom team match should affect team rating accordinglyStatistics: Posted by RoLa — 07 Jan 2016, 15:54
