Smurfs would take over GW if low rated players were given big bonuses. I'm sure over time these more complex issues will get ironed out.

And then my suggesion would be, that if you get a high rated enemy, you get some bonus reinforcements.

And yes, while the game seems the same, it play differently.

Also, expect more asymetric maps and gameplay in the future.

I think galactic war is challenging and a learning experience and it has forced me to improve my playing ability to survive. I love it. The map and interface could be improved to make coordination a bit easier and intuitive for new players. But I love gl

For me the main problem is lack of player base. Looking at how cybran are doing, i can tell that most people are playing cybran now and UEF clearly aint even close in numbers. They are just giving their territory for free. And so far the only guy who was a real opponent for me is Sheppard (and some other supreme commander dude, but i played him only once). Other games were pretty much noob bashing figuring a best way to kill enemy ACU on given map. Which im not the biggest fan of. I also havent seen a slighest bit of cooperation from UEF, they were just randomly attacking/defending. Never saw a rank 0/1 to face me with some reinforcements, while me, ZLO and Nombringer were giving loyalists to our lower ranks like crazy. We even came up with a strategy how to dominate the galaxy :) And so far, UEF cant stop the cybran, lets see what other factions are capable of :)

You really, really have to understand that recalling under 5 min is okay, at least you know something about the guy.

You don't need, and don't have, to fight till the death. It's kind of the opposite.

ie. I would like to see replays with people using planetary defenses and reinforcements before starting to think to do anything.
I barely see any until now.

Another point.
Reading you, it's like one faction has all pros, and others only total noobs.

Communication is the key. It's actually one the main GW focus.
Don't try to attack/defend randomly. Communicate.

You see someone attacking? Ask if anyone know if he is good or not!
Use your own top players to go there, maybe eventually just to delay him so you can attack somewhere else!
You know you are facing a good player? Ask tons of planetary defenses ! Ask for tons of reinforcements!

Also, it will be less a problem when teamgames are implemented.

Before trying to change the game, try to play it like it's meant to.

By the way I'm not against doing some changes, but I don't like any the ideas posted here. They all throw the game concept out of the window.

Just my two cents; It could also be an option to have separate galactic wars for each of the level ranges mentioned by you.

I agree with Downlord, I've played against the pros a few times in the alpha and it was no fun. I had absolutely no chance and was getting dominated every time. Maybe if they were in a sexy little outfit I wouldn't mind getting spanked so hard but I figure I'm not the only one that quit playing after getting crushed numerous times. The only issue I see is more server stress and factions would be more imbalanced due to certain levels of players gravitating to some factions more than others.

But it will be better when you can have 3-4 noobs vs 1 pro. ;)

As for example I already had a Game which I expected to win pretty fast...well, it ended up with a Soulripper and a nuke  And you know what? Thats acutally cool!

Ofcourse there are a couple of noobs around aswell. But hey, if for example a noob going to face ZLO and call-back at 2minutes, nobody will blame him. Or just sit back, relax, keep ACU near the spawn point (for fast recall) and try a snipe. Also, use your intel and make some valid guesses! You will know the Avatars Name of guys like ZLO pretty fast. And high ranking players can see who is attacking, so at least for defence / counter-attacks you know pretty well what you are going for.

And as I remember, GW isnt ment to be balanced! Its ment to be fun. If you want balanced 1v1s, go for Ladder. Also, I think the problem will be less significant, once GW is more than just 1v1s.
