Just to add to this old thread, mine doesn't seem to work either. Getting absolutely destroyed because the game is advancing to tier 2 and just leaving me behind.

It's leaving a very sour taste in my mouth...

yeah it just doesn't show up in lobby, but do actually work

Upon further investigation its possible that timed expansion is actually off but showing as on in the lobby. Took my time with the first couple of FA missions with timed expansion supposedly on (after attempting to turn it off) but expansions waited for objectives.

When I attempt to set timed expansion to 'off' in the lobby it won't stay that way. I close the options and it stays off. Other settings change as intended.
