Obligatory beg for carpet bombing post will now commence.
In the original release version of SupCom1, bombers would pay attention to what is beneath them and drop a bomb if they were flying over a target.
(originally, bombs were not physics-enabled, they just fell straight down, iirc.)
This means you can move a formation of bombers over some enemies, and they would repeatedly drop bombs as they fly over, which was awesome.

I dont care what other changes need to be made, so that this feature is competitively balanced, but this needs to be in game. Definitely, absolutely, oh yes.

For practical reasons, I think only T1 bombers should have this ability. (T2 fighter bombers would end up dropping bombs whilst dogfighting. T3 carpet bombing would be incredibly cool, but probably unstoppably OP.)
I think its best if bombers have a small attack range where they can see a target beneath, and the bombs are home-on-point. This would make bombs accurate against single targets whilst still being relatively indiscriminate when carpet bombing.
One problem is being able to micro bombers so that they spray bombs all over a single target. If this cannot be fixed, then maybe a rebalance is needed so that this will be considered a valid alternative use of a T1 bomber.

This concludes the obligatory beg for carpet bombing post.
