What do we do about it?

There have been a lot of different ideas of how to make it a viable weapon.

Decrease its cost.

Increase its dps.

Increase its vision/radar.

Make it anti-shields only.

Make it a mobile anti-nuke.

Current Stats:
Health: 9000hp (regen rate: 0hp/s, armor type: Structure)
Economy: mass: 37200, energy: 604500, build time: 27900
Weapons:
Orbital Death Laser (Direct Fire, Normal): 150 dps, range: 0 - 30, area damage radius: 1beam: 75 damage fire cycle: 1 beam every 20 seconds, 75 damage totalturret pitch: 0° ± 180° (360°/s), turret yaw: 0° ± 180° (360°/s)Air Crash (Death, Normal): 3000 damage, area damage radius: 2

I think we all agree something needs to be changed if we want to see it used ever. It is just so darn expensive at the moment. But, it needs to be because there is no counter to it. If you allow SMD to shoot it down, perhaps you could buff its damage.

A simple idea, imo, is to make it cost less and allow SMDs to shoot it down.

but SMD should not autofire at it. that would be devastating, if you combine novax and nukes

How would it be devastation? Novax costs more than nuke launcher _ nuke

well but you undload anti nuke with the respawning Novax and then you destroy the base with your nuke.

do you have to pay for each satellite? i recall it to respawn for free, but that may be outdated.

I don't think it respawns. If it did, people would just suicide it for its death weapon (3000) damage and use that to kill smds lol.

Make it cost less and allow SMDs to shoot it down.
Base station blows up when satellite is shot down.
When Ctrl-Ked, the satellite will drop an an unpredictable angle, so you cant really use it to snipe things.
Reduce the laser range (or increase vision) so that it can see what it is shooting.

Also, my personal wish: Change the laser properties so that it is always firing, and doesnt reload. If needed, adjust damage so DPS remains constant.

The Novax satellite is invulnerable to all intents and purposes. You can't shoot it down. The only way it dies is if the building controlling it dies.

Things about the novax:
1 is terrible
3 will win you a game.
They get significantly better the more of them you have, as suddenly you can't shield your base enough any more.

Having them with constant fire will cause the same problem, you just won't be able to stop them.

Their benefit is being a unit that can damage without fear of being lost (unless you lose your base) or can be used to drop on SMD silos.
This currently does not justify the cost.
If anything, reduce the cost slightly, but not too much. I think if people built them and used them to snipe outlying mass extractors they would see more use as they currently are.
