jamming

Jamming:

Once you get LoS the jamming just disappears and never reappears unless you loose radar sight. Taking a look at the units that have Jamming (T2 Frigate, T2 sparky, T3 GS) none of them engages outside of jamming range. Only the frigate jamming might prove a tad bit useful when your opponent is to dumb to scout in mid game.

It's like you scouted a stealthed army once and can see it from there on.

Heres the idea. Unless you keep Line of sight, jamming will reappear. It's a fucking radar jammer, how does it stop jamming just because you had LoS once? It's a small change that will hardly effect T1 naval combat (line of sight range etc.). But it just might be usefull when adding jamming to other things like T2 gunships (sparkys on hook) or a T2 army.

Was just an idea, would be nice for the UEF arsenal to have a bit more e-war power. I'm not even sure if its doable, but didn't vanilla Frigates had permanent jamming?

up for it.

Although i don't understand why cybranT3Gunnies have jamming. Jamming is more or less a UEF thing. Would make more sense if they had stealth.

UEF already have mobile shields. This is like an equivlent so stealth and would make them a little op sometimes. I propose after after beijg spotted it shows up the unit for 30 secs and then goes back to jamming again.

I would rather make it respawn the images after 15s and after 30s you loose the icons?

I'm 100% on board with OP.

Once LOS is lost, jamming continues ala stealth. Right now it's pretty useless.

+1
FA is a game of economic micromanagement (what StarCraft players mistakenly call 'macro') and tactical trumping (e.g. T2 PD countering T1 Spam).

Wouldn't it actually be more interesting if the static StealthGen for UEF would actually be a advanced radar jammer?
Like creating images of Buildings too?
Or you Guys think having a stealthGen for every faction is essential for gameplay?

As long as Radar Jamming worked like in the OP (it came back whenever you lost LOS or didn't have an Omni) then it would actually change nothing and fit great with the UEF.

Stealth gens play a vital role in PD wars on some maps. Yes I like the idea of more faction diversity but I highly doubt anything like this will be implemented and it might upset balance.

Stealth Generators are pretty useless for pd crawl. I'd rather build a shield since shields aren't countered by line of sight. Also you can see Cybran's and Seraphim's T2 pd shoot so you could just ground fire them anyways.

It's a cool idea but wouldn't really change the game at all. Although it'd be funny to see someone ping notes all over an area for bombing runs with ground fire.
