You couldn't be more wrong , sadly.
4/5/6 months ago (dont remember exactly), there was a sort of mini challenge between players, and I was absolutely stunned at the amount (not thousands but too many already) of "recognized"/decent/good players (even one moderator) who embraced and almost pushed people to use that cheat, 'cause apparently, even though it's a game, any kind of bs can and should be used to win.
So don't think that only applies to noobs

. It might have been epic trolling, but the huge debate that happened at that time on GPGnet let me think otherwise.
I think it happened to anyone to have some transport or bombers to go offmap for a few secs at least. Personally I adjust the path of the units when I realize they may go offmap unintentionally, taking the risk of getting shot.
Just like Uber said, only real solution is to avoid them.
