Mass Fabricator Upgrading

So, I was thinking about Sera T2 Sonar's blueprint file, which has an upgrade path to a t3 sonar that doesn't exist. I then remembered about the t2 mass fab it has. Here is the blueprint snippet:

You'll notice:
- It has an upgrade path to a t3 mass fab
- Aeon's T3 Mass Fab

This is pretty odd as they're different sizes. I enabled this once, and you do end up with units inside each other, but the adjacency works!

Any thoughts about actually making this more official? It might be useful for making massfabs more viable later game.

I would support giving sera a different economy with massfabs from t2 on, but this would be a very huge change and i dont think this will ever happen here.

If you dont adapt the whole sera economy it will have the problems of the normal massfabs, "imba" (see massfab thread) or useless.

I dont like the idea. The t3 fab is a downgrade anyway and the only time you build t3 fabs instead of t2 is when space is an issue on maps like thermo. However I do think you should be able to upgrade the aeon t2 shield to the t3 one as all the other factions can. Sera could do with a t3 sonar too. There navy is weak enough as it is without it. The only navy strength they got is the cruiser in some sutuations and the t3 sub is very good but beaten mass for mass by t2 ones. Perhaps give there t3 sonar a restorRation field? Would be awesome for area late game.

Neither Aeon nor Sera can upgrade their shields. It's 50/50.

I apologise. I have never upgraded that shield in my life. It's way too good as a t2 shield.

So do you think you will chance it so aeon shields can be upgraded? All you need now is an upgrade animation and I'm sure you will fine somebody willing to do that. And about sera t3 sonar. Do you think it is a good idea? I like the restoration field idea. Will add faction diversity and make sera better in naval battles.

just putten this out there,
nobody uses T2 mass fabs at T2. we could stop trrying to make them work and just change the unit altogether some kind of support structure. This would leave T3 mass fabs as the only option past extractors which kinda works in my opinion

I do sometimes. If I get 2 t2 pgens and then double ras on acu I will have a few thousand power spare even after starting to get T3 air. Why not get a few T2 mass fabs to use it up? I got auto mass fab manager too and that turns them on/off when you got no power or lots of power.
