As we all know, before original supcom was released, it was intended that all aeon units have two modes, open and closed, and that weapons could only shoot in the open position. You get to see a few of these in the game as it stands, namely TML and Nukes, and other units have animations (T2 flak, T2 arty) that are simply not used in the game. Although it would require an animator, and somebody who can add new bones to all the various models for the animator to animate, I think it would be cool to implement this.

So would I. Also when they are not attacking they could be closed and get defence buff. They could have less HP normally to compensate though.

what is a complete list of units that these animations are on?
I can think of
T2 PD
T2 AA
T3 AA
stealth gen - when attacked or turned off it should hide
Hydrocarbon - perhaps in this mode it does not produce power but has nice defence buff? and automaticaly goes nto this mode when attacked? again could have less HP to compensate
T2 Arty - when in hold fire it should hide
TML
Nuke

I believe these changes are implemented in the 4th dimention mod or it could be blackops? you could ask for permission then rip them out? and these changes would add to faction diversity too.

edit - you could also do this to other factions massfabs - when they are killed when turned off they don't blow up? might make them used a bit more

I did something like this on The BlackOps: Unleashed Wraith;, the front mini guns pack away when not in use.

Ah, that as well but must be the turrets in 4th dimension. They also get a defene buff when closed up.
